Monica De La Cruz (TX15) is a Proud Zionist
When people utter cries of “foreign interference” in our elections, they usually tend to be referring to Russia and not to Israel. It is, however, Israel and not Russia that has one of the largest lobbying groups to exist in The United States of America. With its founding in 1948, Israel has been allied with The United States in ways of which The United States provides Israel 3.8 billion in aid every year, funding Israeli military and economic sectors, such as free universal healthcare, and college – sectors that remain privatized in the United States of America. The United States uses Israel as a proxy to have a presence in the oil-rich lands of the Middle East, and given recent use of nuclear powers, it’s one gone rogue. The illegal occupation of Palestine by Israel has become so brazen in the past 7 months, broadcasting war crime after war crime, that to hear a public official unabashedly proclaim “unwavering” support for “Israel to defend itself” – words that once dissected for the propaganda that it is, amounts to supporting a genocide and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people, which to say the least, is repugnant of said politician, and mortifying for constituents.. The foreign influence is obvious here, with AIPAC pushing Congress to disregard the International Criminal Court and its recent announcement of arrest warrants for Netanyahu.and it is a dangerous one.
More than a hundred bodies of Palestinians were buried in a mass grave at a cemetery in the southern Gazan city of Khan Younis on Wednesday, Nov. 22nd.
Monica De La Cruz is putting TX15 to shame by being pro-Israel in the aftermath of 34,000 dead Palestinians.
Many of these people have been violently displaced, much like the migrants that come to our Southern border as a result of interventionist, imperial American foreign policy. Monica’s rhetoric is not surprising but it is disappointing, as well as hypocritical, considering she tapped into her own immigrant background while running her campaign – a campaign that AIPAC spent $18,296 in. She doesn’t truly respect or empathize when a group of people have to flee for the safety of themselves and their families.
Her staunch support for “Israel” makes her a Zionist, which is a flagrant offense to Judaism as a whole, and we don’t want settler-colonial supporting individuals like Zionists in the RGV. People in the RGV care about what is happening in Palestine, we care about borders, we care about apartheid, we care about ending an illlegal occupation, and we demand that our representatives do too. Click here to write to Monica to tell her we need an end to an arms embargo NOW.
